Cranial nerve lymphomatosis.

چکیده
Neurolymphomatosis is an extremely rare neurologic manifestation of systemic lymphoma in which B-cell nonHodgkin’s lymphoma a much more common cause. Neurolymphomatosis must be differentiated from more frequent neurologic manifestations of lymphoma, including peripheral nerves compression by enlarged lymph nodes, radiation plexopathy, herpes zoster infection, and lymphoma-associated vasculitis. A nerve biopsy may show false negative results because of patchy nature of lymphomatous lesion; therefore, sometimes diagnosis is made only at postmortem examination. A 21-year-old male with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, presented with the complaints of facial paralysis, dysphagia, and paraesthesia in both legs after the sixth course of CHOP regimen (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine and prednisone). Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of head was performed with a 1.5 Tesla scanner. Axial and coronal thin section postcontrast T1 weighted MR images (TR: 600, TE: 16) revealed mass lesion in Meckel’s cave and optic chiasm and thickening of left abducens nerve, bilateral oculamotor nerves and mandibular branch of left trigeminal nerve consistent with lymphomatous infiltration. All lesions were contrast-enhanced following intravenous administration of paramagnetic contrast media. (Figures 1-3)

Evolution of Neurolymphomatosis to Lymphomatosis Cerebri
Dear Editor, Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL), which is typically of B-cell lymphocytic origin, normally remains confined to the brain, spinal cord, and/or eyes, rarely spreading outside the nervous system. The appearance of a homogeneously enhancing periventricular rounded mass in MRI is suggestive of the diagnosis in an immunocompetent host. The case reported here illustrates a...

The autonomic nervous system consists of a vast range of nerves and ganglions. Anatomical studies have demonstrated that the sympathetic innervations of the head and neck are affected by the neurons that ramify from the cranial cervical ganglion (CCG). The CCG is the end of the sympathetic cervical trunk, which runs with the vagal nerve during its cervical course. In this study sixteen adult (2...
متن کامل18F-FDG PET/CT in Neurolymphomatosis: Report of 3 Cases
Neurolymphomatosis is a rare manifestation of non-Hodgkin lymphoma characterized by infiltration of peripheral nerves, nerve roots, plexus and cranial nerves by malignant lymphocytes. This report presents positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT)imaging with 2-deoxy-2-18F-fluoro-D-glucose (18F-FDG) in 3 cases of non-Hodgkin lymphoma with nerve infiltration, including one newly d...
